We are proud to announce that we are official sponsors of True Heroes Racing, the UK’s first and only motorcycle race team dedicated to supporting Wounded, Injured and Sick (WIS) UK Service Personnel & Veterans.
As part of our ongoing commitment to supporting the local community, we chose to sponsor True Heroes Racing because of its unique backstory and uplifting mission. Steve Rushton, Director at Crown SDS, comments: “A fundamental part of Crown’s culture is ‘giving something back’ — so when we discovered True Heroes Racing and all it aspires to achieve, we knew we had to pledge our support.”
Not only that, but True Heroes Racing is also close to our company’s heart.
Managing Director at Crown SDS, Tim Seagers, comments: “True Heroes Racing was founded in 2012 by serving Royal Navy sailor Phil Spencer. As an ex-military myself, it’s amazing to see the work that Phil and the organisation are doing to engage, empower and inspire injured UK Service personnel.
“At Crown SDS, it’s always been my mission to apply key military values and thinking in logistics, helping to ensure delivery is always efficient, as well as supporting Service leavers into employment. It means a lot to us that we can help to support all individuals involved, both on and off track, and get the chance to amplify the great work of a like-minded community.
“Having been awarded the Military to Civilian Award by the National Courier Awards in 2021, it’s amazing that this sponsorship will allow us as a company to further support those transitioning from the military to civilian life, just as I did.”
Commenting on the sponsorship from True Heroes Racing is Phil Spencer, Founder & Team Principal, who shares: “True Heroes Racing is the UK’s First and Only Motorcycle Race Team that is dedicated to supporting Wounded, Injured and Sick UK Service personnel and Veterans. Formed by UK Military people to engage, empower and inspire UK military people and the wider audience.
We rely extensively on cooperate support to fund our activities with our beneficiaries and as the number of companies that support us grows as does the number of opportunities we are able to offer.
That’s why it was great when Crown SDS contacted us and joined our supporting company list for 2022. Hopefully 2022, which marks our 10th year of existence, will be our best and with companies like Crown SDS supporting us we are well on our way towards it with the largest footprint and beneficiary opportunities we have ever been able to offer.”
Crown’s sponsorship has also been a great opportunity to get the team together and watch the bikers in action, with the next few races taking place on 20th – 22nd May ready to kick off round 3 in Donington Park. We’re excited to see the drivers suited up in their uniform — which now features our Crown SDS logo on the right shoulder and on the motorcycle liveries.
