Night Shift  Co-ordinator (Permanent Nights)

Crown Couriers are offering an excellent opportunity to be part of a great team environment in a rapidly growing business. To provide a cost effective, reliable, efficient and sustainable delivery service meeting the customers’ needs and in line with the Company’s objectives.

Reporting to the Night Shift Team Leader, you will be responsible for being the first point of contact for customers and drivers by phone .  The role requires a high level of customer service & the ability to communicate orally as well as in writing, working off own initiative & performing consistently & efficiently. Communication will be via Telephone, email & proactive alerts. Working to achieve optimum customer satisfaction at all times.

 

Please note this is office contact centre based role not warehouse .

Shift pattern is 4 on 4 off 12 hour shift 7pm to 7am

 

Duties Include:

 

  • To provide a consistently high standard of Customer Service to all customers
  • Respond appropriately and professionally to all customer requests
  • Respond appropriately and professionally to all driver requests
  • Job Allocation to drivers and planning to achieve required response times to ensure Customer Satisfaction
  • Maintain continuous contact with Customer and Driver during end to end process of our service provision.
  • Costing of jobs for Customer and Driver
  • Professional and efficient point of contact for customers and drivers via inbound/outbound calls and e mail.
  • Handling of live customer complaints
  • Achieve response times (SLA)
  • Full awareness of real-time resource availability
  • Accurate pricing of jobs for drivers and customers as per pricing process
  • Maximise profit and prevent occurrence of loss making jobs

Applicant Criteria:

  • Strong work ethic giving full attention to detail and accuracy
  • Able to solve problems with minimal supervision
  • Be able to demonstrate a strong customer focus in a fast paced environment.
  • Excellent customer service skills with rapport building abilities
  • Excellent communication skills especially a high standard of telephone etiquette

Business Development Manager

Crown SDS is offering an excellent opportunity for a driven and talented individual to join their rapidly growing business as it enters a new phase of growth.  Over the last 35 years, Crown has earned an enviable reputation for customer service excellence and innovation in the van courier and logistics markets.

With a turnover of c.£40m and 70 staff based at our head office in Tamworth, we work in partnership with the UK’s best-loved brands across retail, automotive, healthcare, engineering and construction and supply chain logistics, to provide time-critical van courier solutions across thousands of routes nationwide. 

Purpose of the role

This is an exciting role where you will be responsible for building and managing the new sales pipeline, and raising the profile of Crown SDS in our target markets.  You will have strong experience of identifying new prospects, developing logistics solutions and working at pace to win new business.  Working within the wider Commercial team of sales, account management, marketing and product specialists, you will also collaborate with colleagues in IT and Service Delivery to create bespoke solutions and successfully onboard new customers.

Drawing on your industry network and keeping track of market opportunities, you’ll spot growth potential and quickly develop a strong pipeline of leads, growth prospects and new accounts.

Your success will be fuelled by your organised and efficient ways of working.  A typical week will see you manage all aspects of the new business development process, from setting targets, responding to new enquiries, undertaking outreach calls, capturing high quality CRM notes, delivering impactful customer presentations, and developing performance reports.

This is a full time office-based role, requiring the flexibility to attend customer meetings, operational sites visits and industry events across the UK.  Your work will make a significant contribution to the company’s success, with the potential for performance-related career progression.  If you are results driven with a proven track record in delivering new sales growth, we would love to hear from you.

Duties and Responsibilities

New business development

  • Research, identify, forecast, plan and deliver new leads.
  • Work with new leads/prospects to create new service and pricing solutions to win new business.
  • Design and deliver robust plans to ensure you exceed the new revenue and profit targets.
  • Work with Marketing to develop targeted awareness campaigns, case studies, testimonials, sales materials and presentations.
  • Build a detailed understanding of customers, market/sector challenges and competitor activity.
  • Take ownership for the quality, speed and breadth of response to enquiries and new quotes.
  • Ensure daily, weekly, monthly and annual updates of customer records, trackers and reports.
  • Provide effective and timely communication to all stakeholders of new account activities.
  • Build effective relationships with colleagues in other departments.
  • Maintain a detailed understanding of our services, bespoke solutions and points of market differentiation.

Strategy and best practice

  • Drive continual improvement of new business and key account management processes.
  • Monitor market trends to identify risks, growth streams and potential strategic partnerships to shape the new business plan and inform the commercial strategy.
  • Ensure all proposals adhere to all regulatory compliance requirements and established rules or guidelines.
  • Prepare sales contracts and maintain accurate written records/CRM file notes.

Applicant Criteria

Industry experience required:

  • 5yrs in a similar new business sales role.  
  • Experience in consultative sales of £m+ operational, technical and service efficiency solutions.
  • Proven self-starter, able to forge effective relationships at all levels.
  • Proven experience of developing bespoke solutions requiring a high level of accuracy, working with a high level of operational and financial detail.
  • Experience of working to strict Governance and Compliance requirements.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate:

  • Experience of developing, reporting and achieving monthly/quarterly/annual targets.
  • Strong commercial acumen with a passion for delivering profitable sales.
  • Proactive and ‘can-do’, resilient to change and uncertainty.

Technical skills required:

  • Fluent English essential.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Highly proficient using Excel, PowerPoint and Word, and CRM/database tools.

Salary and Location:

  • Full time based at our Head Office in Tamworth.
  • Salary dependent on experience, plus car allowance, pension etc.
  • Frequent travel to customer/industry events as required (full driving licence essential).
